^ This so hard.

I remember the intro and the first track, but nothing else stuck with me.

Colors and TGM instantly impressed me when I first heard them, and I know both albums note-for-note (and I've never been a BTBAM fanboy either). This could have been so much better if more time had been spent on the songwriting.

'Extremophile Elite' is beast of a song off of Parallax II.

This is pop crap with some rhythmic divertissement. Really not my cup of tea. The refrains are awfully flat and irritating.

The average ratings for this and Parallax II ought to be switched.

I don't love this album, but it's much better than PII as far as songwriting goes.

A 4 is absolutely ridiculous.

Decided to jam this and honestly when Tommy sticks to his quiet, melancholic vocals it works.

It's when he decides to go full on theatrical the album loses me, the screams are decent but this goes way too campy at some points.

Definitely better than Parallax II as its mostly not 'prog for the sake of prog'.

Feel like I could even get behind this hard after a few listens, would've loved more songs like Node tho.

This band's tour includes Enslaved, Intronaut, and some Berklee College of Music prog metal band and they're coming to Boston, which is only 40 minute drive from me, a few weekends from now and I'm really trying to go (mainly for Intronaut and Enslaved), but it's the weekend right before all my final exams start haha

What to do, what to do...

seeing these guys in a few days, mostly for Intronaut and Enslaved [2] haven't even heard these guys' two most recent albums, tho they did used to be my favorite band. i used to be obsessed with Colors, but I think I'm preferring Alaska now. It's diverse and amazing without being so deliberately set up. Also, Selkies and Backwards Marathon. And Laser Speed.
