How's this any fresh when it's a copycat of Periphery, where there were already hundreds of subpar Periphery clones?

Common Man's Collapse was more original than this tbh

Adding clean vocals and simplifying your songs doesn't make the band less bland. CMC will always be the best VOM.

Yo toondude i do know what an opinion is. Theres a difference between an opinion and talking shit. This album is easily a 4. Gtfo haters. I also dont see why you say the lyrics suck. You're obviously fucking death. The lyrics are pure and beautiful. I guess you're agianst spiritual singing. That's just plain ignorant.

Jesus, so much wrong in this thread. CMC is definitely their peak. this a huge step down from that and they used to stand out in the deathcore scene and now they fit in so damn well. Its just a shame how they've succumbed to being trendy and generic

I have yet to hear any song on this album that compares to Its Torn Away or Its Not Safe to Swim Today.

Lowered my rating. This isn't nearly as enjoyable as the band's past recordings for me anymore, and I feel that Lukas would be better off sticking to his scream/growl combo. Change is totally fine as long as the outcome proves to be satisfactory or more than that, but it ain't the case here. Teluete is one of the better tracks tbqh, even though that's not exactly saying too much.

This may be influenced by Periphery, but it's good enough to maybe even be beating Periphery at their own game. The band still shreds and is catchy as fuck too now.

I was expecting this to be awful when I first heard they were going to have a lot of clean vox, but I think it's their best since CMC. Instrumentally, this is really tight and there are a ton of quality head banging moments, which is basically why I listen to any Sumerian band. My only real issue with this is a lot of the songs just go from one cool idea to the next without any real flow between them.

There's no novelty in this disc. It's all stuff that has already been done, VoM were a trend-setter, now just passengers of a crowded bandwagon.
Sitar, dude I like you, but Periphery have been s**t since Frak the Gods. There's no joy in being better than a bad band
Teleute is the only good old/new mix and there's no other song in this disc that tries to do the same thing here. If they go for that style on the next, fine I'm sold. I wouldn't rate any VoM disc anyway over 3.5, it's not like they have ever been gods of metal

I detest Periphery because it's a waste of enormous potential.

Why is it a waste though?

This Toon kid seems to think that if he doesn't like something, it "sucks".
