A good handful of those yeah lol. Thats whats up. Mariner is just a protypical post metal album with sexy vocals and tragically boring closer. Its still awesome dont get me wrong but people oodle over it like post-metal didnt even exist before 2016

Agree. It's good, love the fact they tried something different. I can also name 15 more that I like better ;)

Even I can list 15 post-metal records since 2006 that destroy The Mariner and I barely listen to post-metal

Yeah I have no internet on my computer right now and am just using my phone so cbf making a list and figuring out release dates without the ease of my computer. Maybe next week if I can remember.

Then again I also just hate CoL's recent material so I could list like 100 albums I don't even like that I like just a teensy bit more than Mariner and still technically not be wrong from my perspective so either way I win

yikes a whole week huh, and a "win"

idk about me having recs for you teamster, you're doing ok besides pickin the wrong fvckin albums by the bands

ok so considering the set-up challenge (this is too easy tbh, then again we're digging into 10 years)

for sure: Given to the Rising, Wake/Lift, Quietly, Inle, Heliogabalus (even Creon), Precambrian, Prehistoricisms, Wavering Radiant, even Eternal Kingdom is still better.

wrong Dirge record though, Wings of Lead Over Dormant Seas is their best

wrong Irreversible record, Sins is waaaaay better

DoG's Aeons over Suffocating

Mass IIII > V

Omega Massif's Karpatia

Phantom Winter's Sundown Pleasures

Tempel's The Moon Lit Our Path

Supercontinent's Vaalbara

Minsk's Ritual Fires of Abandonment

Time to Burn's Is.land

Sumac's What One Becomes

off what I got on my phone

I don't dig Eternal Kingdom or Downfall of Gaia, and Sumac disappointed me. Otherwise all solid.

they're solid but not a huge fan of DoG either, shame about the other two though
