It's the belief that nothing in life holds true meaning or purpose

On the base level, yes. But by believing that, you don't have to hold onto negative emotions or a past that weighs you down, because eventually it will not matter. That, to me, makes it positive.

In one sense the belief is true, because ultimately all that exists must reach its end no matter what, and ultimately if you look at humanity from the perspective of the size of the universe as a whole all we're doing is (literally) miniscule

But on the other hand, I like to believe you're supposed to make your own purpose

I don't think anyone is 100% nihilist. Because there is something that matters to everyone. Even the earliest nihilists believed
in ultimately spreading those beliefs, so wouldn't you think it mattered to them? I just think the idea of letting go the types of
things that hold you back is a nice concept. And it's nice to keep your accomplishments in check on occasion as well.

Nihilism is a very broad term that has a lot of different meanings.

Debating the term's meaning on sputnikmusic is kind of laughable.

But I don't see any nihilism in Slipknot.

4 was embarrassing high that's all.

Laughing at the little kids on the previous

page thinking they're edgy by calling

themselves nihilists and not even knowing what

it fucking means (and then quoting AOV as if it

somehow backs them up).

As long as Crahan's around, it's a cash-cow band that tries harder than its peers. It always has been. Only a select amount of tracks that Corey's written could be considered genuine, and they certainly aren't on Iowa, because he's said outright that he hates the album.

Yeah after the build-up of the opener, there's very little immediacy to the tracks that follow, up until Devil in I.

Killpop is still a highlight for me. I really liked this when it came out but that's probably because I was hyping it up too much.
