this starts off really strong but kind of fades toward the end. was really expecting to be blown away by the finished product for the first ten or so minutes but in the end I'll probably end up giving this a reluctant 3.5

I wish it was as bass heavy throughout as...track 3 I think? There was one song that was like perfect: great vocals, good lyrics, and a really huge beat. But towards the end it started focusing a little too much on her voice, which wasn't really what was drawing me in to begin with.

tbh

2015 new year's resolution for every sputnik music user:

stop using the word "production" in that blanket-term sort of way

what do you mean "the ones with more prominent production"? like the ones that had more tracks, a larger range of instruments, more exciting beats, heavier bass.... seriously what does that mean

presumably every song had as much attention paid on the production side of things as every other song on the record

My favourite song is You Should Know Where I'm Coming From which is probably the most straight-forward

where the production doesn't take as much of a backseat to the vocals in terms of idk noticing it less

being thinner

I stand by my comment

why presume that as if you were involved in the project? all of what you said is implied if you heard the record.

well...like obviously you pay the same amount of attention (from the production side of things) to every track. Just because it's louder or busier doesn't mean "more production."

Idk just something I've been thinking about lately. I really don't think it means anything at all to say that a song has more "prominent production" because it's busier.
