3:43 until 4:50 is probably the album highlight

I may bump this, it's a pretty enjoyable record. It just seems really derivative to me.

Besides Goblin, (who I am happy to see are still around, and toured North America last year...) and Scandinavian 1990s Era Prog this and Heritage remind me of the UK band Comus...so people who dig this should check them out too. Opeth referenced Comus on "My Arms, Your Hearse", that being a lyric of a Comus track. If people consider Watershed to be part of this, Opeth Period, I wonder if Opeth don't change it up after this album....making a trilogy. I doubt they will paint with the same colors forever. It's an ode to progressive rock, but it's not rock progressing...they aren't pushing any boundaries of music or anything, but that doesn't mean it's not a very good recording. Most of what's called Progressive Rock is more re-inactments of the Golden Era, often very good...but it's hard to label it as Progressive like the music being made 1968 - 1977, (or 74 or 75 depending on your perception.) A good place to find music that is made in the same spirit of pushing the boundaries... is gnosis2000.net

It's a well known fact that Comus is a big influence on Akerfeldt and they even influenced him on the Storm Corrosion record

allmusic, amongst other genres, call Comus, "Acid Folk"...and include the Japanese band Ghost in that column...interesting...Will have to check out Japan's Ghost.

I see Ghost is Michio Kurihara's band. He is an amazing guitarist! I love the album he did with Boris, "Rainbow" and "Cloud Chamber".

I have no idea why I didn't hunt down this guys discograhy...he is really good...if anyone is interested he also had a band called "The

Stars".

For people interested in some of the deeper cuts, forgotten bands of Prog, google The Progressive-Kraut-Psyche-Avant garde Rock Collection. It's a great list of albums that should be in everyone's collection.
