I never really liked any of the previous albums by these guys, aside from the ataxia songs, but this
album is generally enjoyable the whole way through. They definitely improved their songwriting from a
instrument standpoint. I think 'overproduction' comes with the territory of heavy technicality, so
the
synth/electronic breaks fit well with the nearly robotic quality of instrumentation
The vocals n lyrics are nothing special, but you don't listen to this band for that shit anyway...

still cool stuff but i read the guitarist's interview in guitar world and he said they tracked solo's like 8 times over each other to make it sound weird and I really don't know how to feel about that kind of studio wizardry.

Gods Amongst Men, Enigma, and Dark Monarch are pretty sick. The album as a whole is a chore to listen to all the way through though. I can only listen to one or two tracks until I just put Creature on.
