I have been listening to this at my desk every day for the past week. i think parts of it are brilliant, great changes, interesting chord progressions and melodies.

[i]The great thing, is that they collab their voices in more than one way. Like the haunting breeze of devin's voice backing Che's in Daddy works so well/[i]
He's a master of layering.

That little acoustic part 3/4ths through The Bridge is classic Devin, probably my favorite section of the album.

Most country I've heard I've hated and I know this isn't only country but damn, this is something else.

I know what you mean. This was a huge surprise and Daddy came off as a little gimmicky at first, but it's amazing now

Only other country albums I've listened to in full were "Four the Record" by Miranda Lambert, "Hell on
Heels" by Pistol Annies, and "Cold as the Clay" by Greg Graffin, so I didn't exactly have a threshold
of quality for this album to exceed, lel

Listen to the Steve Earle song 'Billy Austin.' It's long and slow but if you like this album that shouldn't be an issue. Even if you don't agree with the song's political statement it's quite the emotional blow. If you like it he has loads of great tunes and I can rec you some of his best albums/songs
And if you want country-ish music that sounds kinda like this album, check out Tom Wait's tunes Green Grass, How's it Gonna End, Sins of My Father....and Hold On cause it's beautiful

It's the eeriness of this record that makes me like country. I haven't heard anything like this within the genre thus far
