What the hell does it matter? It's music. I don't jump on hype trains often. I wanna listen to this. It's not a big deal.

If I only listened to this and Soundtracks For The Blind so far do I at least have a somewhat valid opinion in your eyes?

Honestly The Seer is a decent starting point for a new listener just because it's so awesome. Just make sure you check out Soundtracks for the Blind and Children of God at some point also.

I might check out a couple of their highlights before this. I don't know about checking the entire discog though.

Just saying, these guys make albums so fucking fast it's ridiculous, especially since their so long.

The Great Annihilator and SFTB were only made a year apart.

If you want a good blend of accessibility and true Swans songwriting check out The Great Annihilator.

it just makes sense to go chronological

it's pretty evident by the fact that there's so much disagreement as to what to hear first

take it as slowly as you want, but put your mind to getting through the discog eventually

know that you might not like some of the albums at first, but just put it aside and move to the next
