I actually agree with you Captain, it looks kinda like the death metal equivalent of crabbing. No issue with people headbanging on stage when it's genuine, but this does look kinda stilted.

if anything, semi-coordinated headbanging is basically a homage to the tru cheesy nature of death metal. i wouldnt be surprised (and probably really pleased) if they came out with matching moustaches and rotund beer guts.
