...but its so much better than Burials. Still not as good as anything Black Sails and beyond, but I'm happy with it.

I am excited for Blood, based on the singles alone. And if it's better than this I will be in for a treat!

It's leaked already haha, though the quality isn't the best really

Personally I think DU is their worst with Crash Love not far behind

Glad I can amuse you, but they definitely became a better band when Puget joined and went into a darker direction. Huge difference between Black Sails and the debut, for example.

they sure hadn't found their own style yet on those early albums and i agree black sails easily beats them but they are still pretty solid punk albums and i definitely like them more than their post-sts shite

They're certainly very fun. I've always been ok with what the band has done since DU, but it's perfectly understandable why the early stuff is better for absolutely anyone who can't stand that.

I honestly haven't even listened to anything Pre-Blacksails.I don't think I'd be into it.

Well, the Blood album is disappointing imo, was hoping for something more

yeah their other 2 bands are way better when comparing them to the AFI that has existed since they branched out and put more focus on the other projects. it just feels like that passion has transferred over to them and left AFI. haven't heard the new one though.

Still a Stranger is by far my favorite song on the new cd

@trackbytrack what I expected was something more than what we got with Burials and what the blood album for the most part sounds like more of the same. Its good music and an album that I can easily listen to all the way through, but just doesn't stand out the way it should. Crash Love actually still had some jams and more repeatable tracks (especially several of the albums b sides). The problem lies in the fact that both Burials and the Blood album feel like they are coasting through most of their songs and just doesn't have the same lasting impact as their prior work

Yeah, I feel like there is a lacking depth on these past 2 releases but I think Blood has much more life.

I wish I understood the hype for this. Clearly, I'm an AFI fanboy so I still have it at a 4, but I think it's easily their worst post-STS release

^agreed. I don't understand why the average is higher than the other post-sts albums
