Agreed with greg, about both this and sound awake.
It definitely continues a trend of at least one unbelievably good song each album (COTE, Deadman, We Are)

"The avg. rating is correct. I have the same problem with this as with Sound Awake: it just ovestays its welcome at points. Plus, not enough hooks (as SitarHero pointed out in the review)."
It's nowhere near correct - I think the record is perfectly measured and the instrumentals aren't too overstated or underdone. The songwriting is astutely developed, Kenny's voice is as good as ever and it's a modest yet none too subtle progression from Sound Awake. No there aren't many hooks but with a fanbase as dedicated as theirs, they don't have to rely on hooks to make the songs memorable. But, when they do take shape ("Chemical fires" in Aeons, "You're new to me etc" in Sky Machine, "These words" in We Are so on so forth) are powerful and sometimes breathtaking. You can listen to this one through and it carries itself effortlessly, something you could do with Sound Awake even though it isn't as broad and nuanced as Asymmetry. The songs don't stand as well on their own but it's really because they work so well within the album format

Um... First off, why does the average score matter? And second off, you know that sometimes people can disagree with you and be just as right as you?

No actually that would be you. Now stop following me around here like a dog.

Great album overall and it does feel like a natural progression from Sound Awake. But I didn't wait 4
years for just a "great" album. Really wanted this to be higher but I doubt it will grow any more.
Production is good don't understand people going off about it. It sounds more raw and I like it.
Sky Machine is the best IMO. It captivates Karnivool's music in 1 song. Has the hooks, the progression
and the technicality behind it. Album does fall flat afterwards though.
Excited to see where they will go next. Hopefully it won't be another 4 year wait. Looking for the 10+
min epics and maybe even a concept album, would be cool to see Karnivool's take on it.
