This album is really sweet. It's the only one I've ever heard by them. I passively listen to it most of the time as background music at work to put me in a relaxed mindset, much like Tenhi. There's something mentally soothing about it.

Dungeon mentions Tenhi, one of my favorite bands. Does this share some similarities?

Stylistically they are like apples and pears, but atmospherically they are both oozing with goodness.

I don't know how you feel about atmospheric black metal, but Gris is not your typical blast beating Darkthrone. There are beautiful acoustic guitar, orchestral string passages, layered over mid-paced (sometimes tribal like) drumming.

Even if you don't like tortured sounding black metal vocals definitely check it out.

that's why I prefer it, it sounds so raw and natural and the music is just so beautiful. it's a lot more memorable than this one too. fuck, I need to jam this again after seeing all these 4.5s and 5s, I don't get it honestly.

This one def wasn't as immediate as il etait.. But it just gets better and better with each listen
