Yeah this is pretty bad.

Can't tell whether to assume this is good or bad with how much the opinions fluctuate on here.

The cd rip is really easy to find. You guys are awful at this.

The 320 is fake.

"The cd rip is really easy to find. You guys are awful at this."
It's a VO rip which is around 220kbps quality. In other words, it still sucks. The 320 one going round is a transcode, which basically means its 128kbps.
You're awful at this. And I've now lost interest in this album.

Yeah I couldn't find a 320 either. But I gave it enough listens to know even at 320 it won't be
anywhere near their previous album. Only a few good tracks on here. Just feels like its only the
vocalist bringing anything to the table this time around.

lol at losing interest in an album cuz you can't steal it

Besides the production I have to agree. Much more auto-tuned, doesn't let the instrumentals breathe, and pretentious rants (See 27 club).

Album Rating: 5.0
Man this is weird -- plenty of reviews have begun to pour in and so far they've been pretty much overwhelmingly positive with 5/5, 9's, 8's and 4/5 and the likes and not ONE reviewer has mentioned the supposed "shoddy" production of the album.
Upon re-listening to this album several times, I notice that the mixing is done better on some songs than others. "The Priest and Used Cars" is pretty much crystal clear across the board, whereas the drums on "The Dope Beat" are a tad too loud in some instances and "Banshee (Ghost Fame)" is a bit uneven here and there, but nothing too serious.
I personally predict that the Sputnik rating will land on a 3.5'ish.

Instruments are completely lifeless to me, that partly has to do with the production but the band
members aren't even trying anymore, it's monotonous, the vocalist is at least passionate

"lol at losing interest in an album cuz you can't steal it"
Nice way to rush to a conclusion. When did I ever say that? I've lost interest because;
A. I'm listening to to many other albums to the point where this would not even be listened to
B. I've worn it out already
C. I downloaded the VO version a few mins ago and it wasn't an improvement so I doubt 320 will be any better.

meh
personally just because it's supposedly "lifeless" and "calculated" doesn't mean it's bad. I mean to me I just see pretty damn good songwriting

Well, they don't know anything about production. This is poorly produced. There is nothing to debate about.
