Does the actual CD have 4 songs or is it broken down into 10?

10 songs
|
| |
It's broken down into 10 songs on the album. Tbh, Of Matter is the only song where it all flows together. Every other movement should've been like that.

Yeah I think I would have enjoyed it more as four large suites that could still be divided into parts.
It would probably keep me spinning it longer

That's the fucking point - Tesseract is more than just djenty chugs, they are better at writing songs which have atmosphere than Periphery are. Periphery's music is emptier. Not as empty and soulless as Vildhjarta's though, heh heh
|
| |
Actually scratch what I said. Eclipse is my fave. Fuckin sick ass grooves in that song. Plus last minute is epic.
"@Drummydude - damn dude proxy is my fav, along with exiled and nocturne. my least fav would have to be palingenisis"
As a standalone song, Proxy is the weakest. It's awesome in context of Of Matter but by itself it falls flat. Still a great song don't get me wrong but it takes a while to get going. Lament from their first album came out guns blazing.

I'm glad that some people is djentin with this magnum opus. Keep djentin bitches while the masses are
derpin . My favorites are retrospect and singularity.

Resist is so dreamy
|
| |
This album is more cohesive and solidly written than Periphery II
Periphery II is definitely more fun to listen to
HOW DOES ONE CHOOSE
|
| |
With periphery the main flaw is Spencer's voice, musically I don't see cons.
|
| |
Periphery are going in a more heavy direction whilst TesseracT are going in a more ambinet/atmospheric direction.
Personally I prefer TesseracT because I'm not really into heavy music much nowadays,
|
| |
Well, they haven't caught me in their ambinet yet
|
| |
And Periphery's music feels pretty disjointed to me, and lacking hooks. But at the same time it's ok for that style to be disjointed sometimes
|
| |
Progressive music isn't really known for hooks haha. But I disagree, both bands have some damn catchy moments.
