Really? If you look at it from an unbiased perspective, I would say this album had no impact on the genre whatsoever.

I meant this isn't your typical Nu-Metal album. Acoustic songs, guitar solos, you don't hear that often in Nu-Metal.

It doesn't need to have had an impact to be a better album in general. The only reason Korn's album created nu-metal is because it came out before.

This CD wouldn't even be in existence if it wasn't for KoRn's self titled. Also, I actually like the s/t musically, especially Faget and Shoots and Ladders.

i have gotta say that i think this is an awesome album and rick rubin did a gr8 job with the band to take them from being a fairly mediocre band to a gr8 heavy metal band

and you rated it a 4 (brain dead). i think it did a better job than KoRn's album.

alot of nu-metal albums did better than koRns album, ie, LD:50

This is an honest question Seetherrocker: do you own KoRn's self-titled? Anyway, The Sickness is not nearly as good as KoRn's self titled on so many levels. KoRn's self titled isn't the best nu-metal album by any means, it is beaten by: White Pony, L.D. 50, Toxicity, System of a Down s/t, and many others. But, it does beat this album. I like this album, but I like KoRn's self titled more.

Personnally, i hate all that is Korn so to me this is waaaaaaaayyyyy better than Korn's s/t.

I detest both Korn and Slipknot.
