Wilson worships The Bends and Pink Floyd and King Crimson and plenty other prog acts I have never heard of. I don't really mind it, though.

This is still an impressive homage to 70s prog. Because, unfortunately, not much in 2013 has sounded very good, excluding a few good albums.

Great review, but nevertheless a bit long. I agree on most of the things you've mentioned and I've only heard the album once but repetitive listening will be followed that's for sure.

"The songs themselves are very engaging, but that kind of instant transparency will only be known by fans of progressive rock."

Indeed, only true lovers of the genre can understand and absorb what Wilson does here. And in all honest I'm glad for being able to enjoy such an album
