Eddie Vedder is at least as well known as Corgan, and definitely better known outside the US. Cornell also has much greater recognition because of his Audioslave career.

nah, Corgan played the majority of the solos, you can see him doing so in live videos. he's a pretty awesome guitarist, the guitar solo from Soma is one of my favorites

Nope.
Eddie Vedder
Forgot about him
I guess Lacey is the only vocalist from this era without as much recognition(which is bullshit cause
he's the best imo).

Layne Staley's gotten a bunch more popular since he died, so he's up there as well in my opinion. It's funny how the normal grunge fan usually only knows Staley and Cantrell when it comes to AiC

I think a lot of that is because AiC is relevant again.

Ha! I was wondering. I think Staley had the best ear for melody, while Cornell had the best range and Vedder just had the most pleasant voice of the grunge era. Not sure what Cobain's appeal was/is.

Blue eyes and fragility, plus a healthy respect for melvins and Beatles, that's about it.

AiC has been my least fave of the Grunge Big 4 for a long time. I've always preferred PJ and SG to them, don't judge me too harshly. And I'm not big on Nirvana either.
I'll listen to this again soon and will let you know my opinion.

"I think a lot of that is because AiC is relevant again."
To a certain extent, yeah. But a lot of musicians, especially singers, get more recognition once they die. One need look no further than The Doors to see that. I remember I was driving to work when they announced Layne's death on the radio. Needless to say my day was ruined.

Restarted from where I left it off. Listening to those riffs, this doesn't deserve a 2.5. I apologize to all AiC fans here.
For those who mentioned Smashing Pumpkins, I love Siamese Dream.
And yes, Cantrell is indeed a skilled guitarist. Better than Cobain at least.
