Agreed, far from generic metalcore, I would probably say the best Metalcore Ive heard so far. Second Heartbeat is soo killer.

I think that this album is Avenged Sevenfold's second best album. The first of course being City of Evil. This album has so many great songs to offer. First their is Second Heartbeat, which goes from being so light to being so moshpittable that it amazes me. Then their is also Unholy Confessions which justs puts me in awe from the first second the music starts. I think people kind of overrate Chapter 4 but I still like that also. I also love I Won't See You Tonight Part 1. It is such a nice soft song to take you away from the more metal aspects of them. I also love the emotional buildup it has with the piano. Perfect!

City of Evil has "Strength of the World" and meh vocals throughout the album. Waking of the fallen is a lot more raw emotion, with less glam rock influence

But blowing your voice out with shitty harsh vocals does not convey any emotion unless you count stupidity.
