Animal Collective Merriweather Post Pavilion
Everyone hates this album for unconventionality? For being highly praised? What kind of logic is
that? Why can't we just enjoy fantastic, swirling melodies on top of tightly wrapped rhythms? Oh,
because it's a hipster album, right. Fuck conventions, this album SOUNDS fantastic. I enjoy it for
the music, not the scene around it.
Animal Collective Strawberry Jam
I remember reading on wikipedia that Panda Bear wanted this album to sound like a packet of those
glossy packets of Smuckers strawberry jam, thus the album title. I think they nailed it, personally.
Shiny and artificial, but totally sweet.
