He's not saying "Millstone" he's saying "I'm my own stone around my neck."

Your words in the last paragraph reminds me of watching a tv-show by the end of the last season, it's sort of a cliffhanger, even though it isn't. Well-written, very emotional. Nice work!
Don't know why I haven't heard this album yet, it's getting so much praise on this site. Must be because it isn't more famous where I'm from.

I mean, it's a good album, but that legendary status that it has on this site is a bit too much IMO.

"Holy shit this album is so overrated."
As has been stated before... just because you don't like it [as much] doesn't mean it's overrated

Why do I like the album so much?
I can't speak for everyone, but here's my reasoning...
Like each song is so fucking brilliant. I haven't heard many songs with tangible emotion in every song. Not just in Lacey's singing (although it's the most predominant part) but also in the songs. Just listen to the riff in 'You Won't Know.' I couldn't care less that it's basic as hell... it conveys this sense of urgency that's just perfect.
Lacey has these tortured vocals that show angst, self-deprecation, anger, introspection, and none of it is manufactured. Man I could speak on and on, but I'm listening to 'You Won't Know' and I'm really wrapped in the emotion of that particular song
