This is pretty good. Third black metal album ever for me.
EDIT: GODDAMN it's good... maybe a 4.5 would be more appropriate even though I've been tossing those around for everything lately.

I picked this up at the same time as Immortal's At the Heart of Winter and got them confused because their cover art looks exactly the same to me, and now i cant remember if its this or that album that had awful vocals. They were both really good though.

they dont actually look exactly the same to me but i remembered snowy mountains and a dark something in the middle. i loved the album though, this is far out of my range too.

Both of them have great album art. And I'm sure you're talking about At the Heart of Winter with terrible vocals. I like Abbath's vocals, but a lot of people don't.

yeah i just think the album art fits the atmosphere of the album unbelievably well. and yeah i didnt like them but i have enough trouble liking regular bm (though im fucking fascinated by the idea of it) to try to get into them. This was actually really good though, could be a gateway for me.
This album sounds like you're standing at the base of that mountain in the background, and above you orcs are fighting an epic uphill battle against goblins, and dissection is playing this on the very top of the mountain. or at least thats how i see it.
