At this point I kinda have a feeling that there is more to this release than we know about yet. I think the most telling thing is that Radiohead have remained completely silent about this even though it has become such a huge suspicion that major websites have commented on it. Even their own record label has posted something about it on their website. I think that if there wasn't some truth to it then they would've come out and said something. Plus it just feels like something Radiohead would do.. especially considering all the comments Thom has made about his "revolutionary" new ideas on releasing music.

R U a radiohead plant to hype this album Kubrick?

What about those who didn't think In Rainbows had 'singularly stunning songs'?
Oh I'm sure there are many of them, just as there are many people who hate OK Computer or any other album by any other band in existence. I was never implying that everyone in the world agreed that In Rainbows was an album with singularly stunning songs. I'm suggesting that the people who did love In Rainbows, and loved it because of a multitude of song highlights, might've let that carry over into their expectations for what this album would sound like. And since it lacks the same theatrical approach and is much more subdued, it would be harder to enjoy the subtlety if you were looking at it through that lens. Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, just an observation as to why this album could've been lost on some people that generally like the band, particularly fans that were converted by In Rainbows.

R U a radiohead plant to hype this album Kubrick?
Hahaha.. the thought of Radiohead needing to plant people on forums to hype up their albums is pretty hilarious. It probably wasn't obvious at this point but I'm not really a Radiohead fanboy.. I only recently got into them actually. For the record I don't think this album is flawless in any capacity, and I like In Rainbows more than this which also probably wasn't obvious. I still think this is an excellent album in its own right though, just in a different way.

Well I like Kid A and most of OK Computer and by those albums I don't rate this one as that good. Lotus Flower is nice, Codex is ok.

but why compare this album to the others when you can totally immerse yourself in the experience of this album alone?
I am so comfortable with this album, and how wonderful it is.
and as for the speculation of another album. i'm wondering if the guy uncovering all these clues is really just decoding this album we already have.

I'm simply saying the album is one that thrives on subtlety as opposed to theatrics, and it's hard to really appreciate the subtlety when all you're doing is searching for the theatrics. It just seems like a lot of people are listening to this album within the context of what they wanted it to be instead of what they actually got, and that context makes it much harder to appreciate the album for what it is.

Betrayed by my own film?? What, did you direct yourself? I should've saw this coming at the first mixed review, you bastard.
not for all the ADHD's
Not sure I'm following you... are you saying that this album is ADHD friendly? I have a friend with a mild case of ADHD and his eyes pretty much glazed over before the first song ended. I guess I wouldn't know personally but I don't see this as being a very entertaining album for someone with attention span issues. Its whole aesthetic is very mellow and you have to listen pretty carefully to really catch all the nuances.
It definitely took me a few spins to really appreciate each song individually. The progression of the album was really what struck me initially and that's where I feel the album is at its strongest. It just has a very natural and effortless flow that makes it feel very intimate and polished to me. The songs themselves are certainly great too (it wouldn't stand up to repeated listens if they weren't) but I feel that, at least for me, the package as a whole is where the appeal really stems from. When you split up the songs and analyze them as individual works you start to find some issues.. mainly that a lot of the songs lack a certain dynamic punch that songs like Paranoid Android have. On their own they can feel a little melodramatic and stagnant but when they are organized together I feel they complement each other pretty brilliantly. I guess the core of what I'm getting at is that this album is the perfect example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

I do like- no, love the coherency of this album and it's natural progression. The only thing I can only really complain that the album could have been even better with a few more songs.
