Good job.

^^ he means the song To Care (like you)
That's actually one of my favs off this

Lindsfarne II and A Wilhelm Scream are my two favorite songs of the year. Also, anyone who is digging this needs to get Klaverwierke now.

Wilhelm for sure is one of the best, as is Measurements.
Haven't got that EP but I've heard it, it's quality. Might get that now actually

I know but the other option seemed funnier.

lol! That would've been unnecessarily harsh

the opening ten seconds of to care like you are the album's weak moments but i feel like it is meant to be jarring so the album doesn't smooth out
I don't find it jarring at all, it seems to stay within the flow of the album to me
|
| |
i'm sure i could come around to that track considering i didn't find measurements, i mind, or the two shorter tracks mesmerizing at first.

The two shorter tracks took a while to click with me too. At first I thought they were just pointless interludes, but they nicely link up the tracks around them
|
| |
yeah, i adore 'why don't you call me', probably my favourite track.

Ah right, yea i can see what you mean! Give Me My Month is awesome. That and Why Don't You Call Me are like the loose, fluid stop gaps between all the electronic precision around them. It's really effective

i love the (to me) subtle classical things slipped into the foundations of this album (and some of
his earlier stuff too). i think someone who knows more about the "genre" (???) of classical than me
would be like "no, what are you talking about" but for someone who only has a vague outline of
understanding, it really works. i'm talking about the chords he fits under "i never learnt to
share"'s looped vocal sample (as well as the one on the cmyk title track). i have no idea how, but
it sounds "classical" to me. sort of adds sophistication to his beatz.
also, the piano trill[s] (once again, not sure i have that right but whatever) at the beginning of
"give me my month". perfect.
both "i mind" and the lindesfarnes need "close listening", though. seem shallow at first but really
open up. i think "i never learnt to share" is still my favorite track, but "unluck" (which just
weirded me out before) is really fucking addicting.
and of course let's give it up to the second half of "why don't you call me", where he scales it up
and it's like woah. i'm just rambling now. love you james blake!
also, album rules

i agree with that analysis of i mind. this album is just love, everytime i put on wilhelm scream i realise how ridiculously i adore him. (plus, the music video.)

I'm putting a review up for this later. Bit daunting after this one but there isn't a 5 rated review so I thought I'd sort that out
