I can pretty much agree with Gmork. Haven't listened to all of this yet, just 2 tracks. Reminds me bit of Rosetta, but the cleans indeed kinda lower it a tad. They're IMHO too generic, high "emotional" cleans are way too common.

The cleans are a bit too prominent to me on this but they're still great and add more texture to the already absorbent atmosphere.

Think I will buy Rosetta's new album for Christmas, dont own anything from them. I listened to something on youtube and I could hardly hear the vocals. Is that just youtube fail?

Get The Galilean Satellites. It's much MUCH better than ADOM.

I'll probably get both. They sounded pretty cool.

It's not MUCH better, but it is slightly superior...

Rosetta is just an ace band all around.

I agree with this, his vocal style is not unique in any way, I would have enjoyed it more if it had no clean vocals at all.

Great review. The song "Empire" alone has more diversity than most bands accomplish in an entire album.

Nicholas is awfully powerful, but I didn't have the same reaction to the other songs I've heard

How has it skyrocketed other than popularity on Sputnik?

I thought ADOM was their best work, but I'm one of the only Sputnikers who thinks so. And the reason you couldn't hear the vocals on youtube was probably b/c the song was from Wake/Lift. The vocals are pushed way back in the mix on that one.

The only thing this album lacks is conciseness, everything is just way over the top, sure, songs are incredible but they have so many parts and so many post-metal passages that at one point it just stops making sense

Listening to samples of this on iTunes and it's definitely going on my "to buy" list. Haven't heard good metal in a long time.
