so much on this album is god awful. lyrics are almost entirely ham-fisted. cramming words where they shouldn't belong. cheesy as shit. i'm seeing this band on friday. i'm in one of those unfortunate situations where the long wait between buying a ticket and actually going to the gig is enough to you to have gone off their music by then.

I think We Owe This is a terrific song. I used to find the chorus underwhelming, but I love the off-beat start and I think they launch into the chorus well every time. I think it's a great song, one of their best. Personally, only We Are Destroyer tops it as far as openers go.

Apparently Dinosaur Jr. was there when Anberlin debuted Impossible at a concert and they talked to them afterwards and said that they felt it was one of the best rock songs ever. After hearing the live version off of Devotion I can completely understand why.
