Wind Up, as much as I love it, has never been one of my favourites on here.

Cheap Day Return and Wondering Aloud are majestic little songs.

''Wind-up'' is a good call, altertide. If you like it, you would also like ''We Used to Know'' from Stand up. There are so much to enjoy in Aqualung. Re-try ''Mother Goose'' and ''Up to Me'', I could see you digging them.

You're right Jamie, the miniatures are highlights as well.

@Jethro "We Used to Know" is all right, but I'm not the biggest fan of it either. When it comes to Stand Up my favourite song is by far "For a Thousand Mothers" (one of the best fake endings I know btw). "Mother Goose" I dig indeed, but the main riff of "Up to Me" annoys me a lot.

I wish there was less blues/swamp music in Jethro Tull, would probably appreciate the band much more then. I gotta say the flute is also a problem for me - beautiful in places, but usually dated, unnecessary or cheesy.

Fair enough for ''Up to me''. I perso dig its vocal lines the most. ''For a Thoudand Mothers'' is a great song. I would need to revisit Stand up in full, but if I remember well, ''We Used to Know'' was my favorite.

I don't think the flutes deserve to be rejected. Flutes are in the forefront of their music for a reason; They are the foundation of most of their compositions. For the least, they feed the structures and they suit the music very well. Flutes are an essential part of JT, and Ian knows very well how to jam and play, from heavy to smooth. Plus his playing is diversified enough.
