i thought exactly the same for the first 3/4 months of owning this to be honest, but once you get to know them intimately and get past the frankly pretty muddy production the amount of musical detail justifies the song lengths, at least for me

hell, if you cut about 4 songs off secaucus (probably luxury, i'll mind you, it's not getting any good and maybe i married sonja even though it's OK) it'd rival this for consistency.
also spare have you heard the overnight success cassette that's floating around the internet? it's got most of abbott 1135 but then 6 other songs including an early version of faster gun, and it fucking rules.
