Still my favourite by him, Alter Ego, Solitude, Make Up Your Mind are all very solid tracks.

Definitely flows better than Lonerism. And then he was right to change gears for Currents rather than pigeonhole himself into the same genre unlike say Temples.

Curious to see what will come next for him.

I think there's few discs that give me nausea despite being unoffensive music like this one. I think it is a combo of the veneration for this guy, the toxic fanbase that either compares it to a religious experience or the next coming of christ (seriously his live tours are defined as "medicine", lol. The bio on Spotify is also awful, goddamn fire his fucking marketing department) the retro vibes where everything that happens here feels taken straight from the 70s and repurposed.

I think the pop stuff he did later is better, at least... Ya know, it's evident that it is made for mass appeal. This disc just... Sounds like it's smart packaging, not authentic, old. Nothing new. Idk. Just rubs me off in the worst way possible lol

yeah, I think unoffensive and made for mass appeal are the best ways to sum up this band...

the fact they packaged "sugar pills" to take at the tour gig is hilarious and embarassing at the same time
