Lol..... dude, I have this love affair with Matt Ryan. I think the guy is the next Peyton Manning, tbh

I dunno if he's THAT good, but Matty Ice is pretty fucking great

I believe he will be. He's a cerebral QB, uses his brain and football IQ and that's why I think he'll be as good, if not better.

you could be right, dude's as smart as they come for sure. I'm pretty high on Matthew Stafford too, kinda reminds me of Carson Palmer. As long as Detroit can get him a good offensive line and some receivers (lol) I think he'll be a consistent Pro Bowler

I don't know about Stafford. I think he's over-hyped and over-blown. He might end up being a good QB, but I don't think he's accurate nor football smart enough to make it as a great one.

I like his accuracy, it's his football IQ that I would question. I guess the question is if he's more Carson Palmer or Jeff George.

Personally, as bias as this might sound, I think Henne in Miami might be the next big thing(besides Matty "Ice"). Even though I am a Dolphin fan, I've been watching him since he started as a freshman at Michigan and I always thought he'd be a great NFL QB. The guy's got a fucking cannon and he's very intelligent. His only real issue is that he tends to overthrow his receivers, but that will be kinda hard to do when you got 6'4" Brandon Marshall as a target.

I've always like Henne, and Michigan QBs in general. I think he might have a break-out year actually, assuming he doesn't turn into a pick machine with all the playing time. I guess that'll be harder to do in Miami's offense.

Well, for one, the Phins starting o-line has gotten stronger this offseason, and they have more options, so he'll be well protected. Plus, you got Davone Bess as your #2 target(he's a legite one too), along with Fasano(who could be great if he stopped paying attention to newspaper headlines), and Brown(great catching running back) for targets. The guy has weapons now. If all goes according to plan, he'll be a 3500 yard, 30 TD, ten pick guy that Miami's been dying for since Marino.

I love that we use this thread to talk sports, and it still hasn't been deleted.

These guys in the NFL are set to have breakout years:
1. Henne(of course)
2. Ndamakong Suh(that guy is gonna be a monster)
3. Anthony Spencer(LB from Dallas opposite Ware)
4. Vernon Davis
5. Felix Jones(if he can stay healthy)
6. Matt Forte( I think that's Chicago's back)
7. Dez Bryant(hard to deny that he has that "it" factor)
8. Matt Leinart(forget your a celebrity, dude, and play football)
9. Pierre Thomas(he'll be the full time starter in NO by the end of the year)
10. Koa Misi(New outside LB for the dolphins. He'll feed off of Dansby's energy and hold that weak-side corner)

gotta say I disagree about Forte and Leinart, but the rest I'm with ya.

Forte was supposed to break out last year, and showed himself to be an average running back at best. His preseason fantasy ranking last year was #2 or #3 overall depending on where you looked and he was just bad. A lot of that was the offensive line, but most of it was that he's a one-dimensional runner. He still has a lot of use as a receiver out of the backfield, but Chester Taylor will be getting at least half the carries in Chicago this year, and probably more.

If you want to look for a guy no one's talking about who's going to break out in Chicago this year -- Devin Aromashodu is the one. In Martz's offense, he's going to put up GIANT numbers. Just look at the last few games of last season, once he actually started playing. Dude's a stud.

That's funny about Aromashodu. I met the guy years back before he went to college and he was a stud receiver in high school. Personally, I don't think he's that great. He needs to work on his hands, although I can see what you are saying happening, because Martz seems to get the best out of everyone on the offense.
And I didn't really mean that they will have breakout years, I meant they are poised to. Some of those guys(Leinert, Forte, jones, and Davis) NEED to have breakout years, otherwise they'll be considered complete busts. That's really what I meant.

ahhh, that makes more sense. Davis kinda broke out last year, at least in the first half of the season.

I think Aromashodu's hands must have improved, he made some amazing catches at the end of last season. Apparently Cutler was asking for him to get PT all season long, but for some reason they didn't play him until the last 4 games, when he had 282 yards and 4 TDs (that's an averae of 70 yards and 1 TD per game, pretty insane).

Lol, that aint gonna happen. No matter how many free agents the Jets pick up, they will never make it back to the Super Bowl. Giants have no offensive talent whatsoever. Brandon Jacobs has shown he can't be an every-down back(which is weird considering he's built like a defensive end), Manning has proven he can't succeed unless he has a big play receiver(which they don't), and that defensive line is porous.

yeah, Giants aren't gonna be that good. Jets will be, at least in the regular season (assuming Sanchez keeps developing).

I'd say Vikings, Packers, Cowboys, Falcons and Saints are the the top 5 in the NFC (I'd like to put the Bears there, but I just don't have faith yet) and the Patriots, Colts, Dolphins, Chargers and Ravens look good in the AFC (Jets/Bengals could be good too). It's really too early to tell though.

I think the Pats are going to start falling off this year, and the Chargers always look good in the regular season and then fail in the playoffs. Dolphins I think are 1 or 2 pieces away from really competing

The two teams I know the best are the Vikings and Cowboys, and I can tell you that neither one of them are going to the Super Bowl.

The Cowboys will not make it as long as Phillips is the coach. They are loaded with talent, but are a sloppy, undisciplined team that does not play with much heart, pretty much the exact opposite of what Parcells inherited. Also, Romo doesn't have the moxy (read: BALLS) yet to weather the playoff storm. He folded like a cheap fucking tent against Minnesota last year in the playoffs under pressure, as he did against NYG in 07, and Seattle in 08.

For their part, Minnesota is just cursed. They also have a horseshit coach in Childress who makes very questionable decisions when it matters. Add in the fact their defense is aging quickly, Favre blew his load last year, and Taylor (a highly underrated but indespensable part of their offense) is gone, the fact the North is all of a sudden good again, and you wont be seeing the Vikings dancing any time soon.

Book it.
