I'm not ready to join the rest of this site in bukkake-ing all over this album just yet, but it's definitely their best to date, and I imagine it'll only grow on me.

Wtf, this review is aweful, and so far off...I'm pissed about this album, I thought it was going to be amazing, and it's just bad. I just picked it up today, and listened to every song, not one blew me away. The main reasons, I beleive, are anthony's voice and less whitty instrumentals. If you go back and listen to Juturna's - In fear and faith (my favorite circa song), or even Saosin's - 7 Years, and then listen to any song off this album, you can hear the raspyness in anthony's voice back then; now just more of a high pitched annoyance in Blue Sky Noise. It seems as if his voice lost some manliness. This could also be the reason for the CD costing 9.99, while Juturna and On Letting Go are 3-5 years old but still cost around 12-15 dollars depending on where you go. Anyways, sorry guys. I still love you, and think you're amazing, but I've got to give this a 1. Juturna is by far, the best Circa Survive album to this day.

@EmptyWithoutYou, TSOAF - Act II, is one song with flow, and imo their only good song, and what seperated old Saosin from being any other avg "pop-punk band" was Anthony and his kick ass vocals, everything after is just terribad for them, but im right with you on this album. Blue Sky Noise fails hard. =/ Juturna > All

Ugh.

I'm pretty sure a 1 is overreacting.

Neither do I.

It really does. But this is really not deserving of a 1. I think new users tend to rate things too hastily and don't realize 5's and 1's should really only be given to a tiny number of albums.

For me, it takes a lot of negs to put something below a 2.5, I find most music I listen to is above average or around that.
|
| |
Same. But that's because I tend to have a good sense of what I will like before I listen to it, so most of my ratings are positive. Plus, when something is that bad, I usually just stop listening to it, so then it doesn't get rated since I never heard the whole thing.

^Agreed. And it pisses me off when people have 1 comment and its on an album that they rated a 1 because "Juturna > All" or some other shit.

Album Rating: 5.0
Yeah a 1 is a little overboard
I like Juturna too, but I can't say this is better than it just yet
Juturna stuck on me for like 2 years and I just started listening not long ago
Still a good album though

I think it's their least straightforward album actually. The sound is more "marketable" I guess, but you can tell they approached this album differently from the others. This was a big step for them I think, and I would argue the more experimental nature of this makes it anything but straightforward.
Now that u mention it i agree with you heh. I tend to see "marketable" and straightforward as one in the same. still I agree this is a great progression for them and yea there are some really weird moments on this album but a lot of this feels like straightforward rock....but whatever...solid album and rating should be bumped to a 4 shortly.

less whitty instrumentals
what
Also anyone who doesn't think this is their best is wrong

Yeah, I meant experimental a as literally as possible. This record doesn't sound like experimental music, but the band experimented with their sound, and it shows. I agree with those "experiments" sounding like straightforward rock, which is actually experimental in this case. If that makes any sense at all.
