tension builds and builds across the dissonant first disc, before exploding into cathartic rhythm and melody on the second disc



at least I exploded

the fact the payoff is so delayed makes it so much more satisfying

Agreed. The build up is so long and droning it kind of puts you in a aural hypnosis by the time the album explodes with colouring, t/t, and height of summer, and yet it's seamless and I often don't even realize it's hit me until it's over and I'm basically a puddle of emotions

This is my fav knife related album but fever ray is by far the catchiest and subtle which makes it a rather unique standout from all the knife albums
