Both versions are amazing of course, but I prefer the remaster. Its robotic, relentless, ultra-tight sound and feel suits the material very well.

So, Haake-less Meshuggah is improved tightness and more preferable? 🤦♂️

Haha, yeah, I admit it feels weird to prefer the Drumkit From Hell. But didn't he technically play all the ''samples'', as in filling in the Drumkit From Hell library?

I’m pretty sure he did. But c'mon, I’d rather hear Haake himself than some programmed shit if possible.

Yeah it was a bit of a stretch. It could have been even better if he played the drums on the remake, but he didn't. That will be for the 20th anniversary edition I guess.

it's still basically him since it's his samples
his soul in the programming, such a meshuggah paradox but there you fuckin go

@Trifolium Not gonna happen though. How many albums do they still have in them.. Not too many I think. They’d most likely put their efforts into that than re-recordings of previous albums tbh.

@Relinquished That's actually genius, if that's what they were going for, ha!

In theory robotic instrumentation would suit the band well. But I don't think it does.
Not a big fan of C33's production, even if it has some of their best tracks.

far as their roboticisms go lies in the autotune last used on C33 but that's bout it
|

c33 uses a vocoder, not autotune
