Heard "Let It All Hang Out" on the radio this morning. I haven't listened to this record yet (putting it off for obvious reasons lol) but man that song is a jam.

Can't Stop Partying was fairly good until that rap section. One of the worst things I've heard Weezer do so far. On "Love Is the Answer" right now. I like the chorus on it but it's a strange one for sure.

I don't think this is all that bad tbh. Tracks 4, 9, and 11 are the closest to being really bad for me. Maybe throw 7 and 3 in there as well, maybe. The other half, though, is really enjoyable.

Can't Stop Partying is a jam and a half. Wayne kills it

It might be my favorite track on the album. It was an epic process coming up with it between me, [co-writer] Jermaine Dupri, and [producer] Polow Da Don – and then Lil Wayne topped it off with this rap from the edge of the grave. […] There was no sense of irony or darkness or tension in the first draft I heard from Jermaine. It was purely “whoo-hoo, let’s drink, get stoned, and get it on,” which is a fine sentiment, but I couldn’t honestly put that out and have it be the end of the story. So I ended up turning the music into something dark and beautiful and haunting, which gave it a different meaning without changing the lyrics. Lil Wayne picked up on that and developed it with his rap.

Dark and beautiful and haunting, hey? Hmm.
This is still a bit of a guilty pleasure album for me.

This album is cringe as hell but I kinda enjoy it? I'd say it's underrated, but those lyrics are horrific lol
|

It's got its moments, Rivers is a horrendous lyricist 95% of the time though, agreed

People were still kinda adjusting to the sheer amount of cringe that Weezer was capable of when this dropped. There's some solid songs here, some songs that are great if you completely throw taste out the window, and some that are irredeemably bad. This is still one of their worst, but I think it can be judged more fairly given the trajectory that Weezer took after
