I feel like they've grown up a little. They ACTUALLY produced a ballad this time instead of just sticking to catchy drum beats and lyrics to shut everyone up. I feel like it meant something to them. Especially since the band mates wrote the album to each other after almost breaking up due to intense differences.

While 'Brand New Eyes' may not be as fun, immediate or obviously catchy as 'Riot!', it is a pretty good balancing of hooks with a more serious & matured songwriting approach. Either way, the ever-improving vocals of Hayley Williams and her honest approach eventually win out. Look no further than on 'Looking Up' when she proclaims "God knows the world doesn't need another band, but what a waste it would have been" before adding "I can't believe we almost hung it up" and "We're just getting started". Recommended Tracks: Ignorance, Looking Up, Decode & Brick By Boring Brick.
