let me sum up the debate for everyone: this began with me simply pointing out why this was a poorly written review, and offering Taylor some suggestions for improvement (i.e. -- exactly the type of discussion this site was created to facilitate).



what has happened? Taylor's conclusion is that his review IS NOT MERELY OPINION, but ABSOLUTE FACT. quote: "I know more about this genre then you ever will." so the argument gradually became me indulging his quest to prove his genius, and eventually degraded into a "i'm right! ...no, I'M right!" cat-fight in which i was quite foolish to participate.



at the end of it all, he still has not addresed ANY of my original problems with his review one single time. he still has not given a basis for his purportedly 100% factual review beyond "I know a lot more about this genre of music and what makes it good then anyone who's given this a positive rating."



hey Taylor: maybe you didn't get the memo that the 30 negative voters were sending, but i'll sum it up for you: nobody gives a rat's ass if you claim to know more about metalcore than everyone else. if you can't write a good review that backs up your positions, NO ONE WILL CARE. you could be a flippin' metalcore Einstein and no one would care.

Adam: that song was off their first album, which was by far their hardest record. it was made 2 decades ago though: they've developed their sound a lot since then. and btw yes they are awesome Dougie :-)



Taylor: you're repeating the same mistake you made several times before. i mentioned a few pages back rather explicitly that my problem with your review HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GRAMMAR. nothing. it has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that you did a terrible job of backing up the points you made in the review. i've said that before, and if you had actually been interested in answering my objections, you would have understood that by now.



and btw i'm not a fanboy in the least -- i didn't neg your review because i disagreed with the rating. unlike you apparently, i believe people are entitled to their opinions. i negged it because in my estimation, it was a poor review.
