Has been a while for me. Was going to jam Painted Ruins today. Maybe I'll listen to this one as well.

Oh, and sure to check out some of their music videos. Ready, Able in particular is fantastic.

Actually still in my initial listen, just passed Ready, Able. That one is probably my favorite so far. Will be sure to check

Review summary nails this. The more you hear this thing the better it gets. Perfect summer jams.

No reason to pit two Pitchfork-approved indie bands against each other.

But yes, the Dodos are better.

somebody once told me that this band and animal collective were the only things worth listening to circa 2011
is this true

'This is not bad *yawn* but The Dodos do this much better.'

What album should I check out.

I have Ulcerate, Deafheaven, A$AP Rocky, O'Brother, and Hades Archer all at 4.5/5 for 2011, but uhhhhh I don't know that I'm ready to recommend them to you lol.

@FrozenFirebug Yes, they were right. Music is actually dead. Forever.

@dbizzles Try Dodos' No Color.

“No reason to pit two Pitchfork-approved indie bands against each other.”

Life’s too short to listen to both, but I’ll check Grizzly’s first to albums to be sure.

“somebody once told me that this band and animal collective were the only things worth listening to circa 2011 is this true“

Doesn’t sound right to me, back then The Raveonettes, Thee Oh Sees, Wooden Shjips, Total Control and Deerhunter were the real shit(s). And The Dodos!

“What album should I check out.”

Visiter, No Color and Carrier are equally good imo, but Individ is probably my favorite.
