two songs in but man yeah this is awesome. definitely heavy jonny craig era dgd vibes. especially in the cleans, really similar in the way he carries lines longer with that strain. mans got some pipes.

yeah this was phenomenal. absolute fucking HOOKS. ones that are actually memorable! love the builds in a lot of these songs, they are structured really well. cool guitar dweedling, always interesting to listen to and not monotonous. and i like the electronic parts, very tastefully used. kind of wish there was more.
definitely a kind of spiritual successor to downtown battle mountain in my eyes. absolutely loved it.

Honestly the vox here are peircingly high pitched but they have that PERFECT 2000s core whine that kinda sorta works lol
A mastapeice

Oh man this record takes me back. I need to give this one a listen asap. The clean vocals and guitars are fantastic. It's a shame they only had just this one release.

Shame that Bennett passed away a few years ago, I liked his screams and he did all the keys and synth stuff

Yeah, I still think about that from time to time. Dude was so young too, only 32 I think. Really sad
This album still holds up remarkably well

oh btw art that "swancore" label i find so funny. like i guess mathy dweedling and poppy choruses is somewhat novel but a real genre? is any post-hardcore album with some math rock influence now "swancore"? rym has added so many nonsense genres lately including mall screamo and sass which are such minor extensions of real genres and i'd say the same for "swancore".

How will we gatekeep if we don't have endlessly granular subgenres
