I honestly think being reintroduced to the song in a new context has a lot to do with it (I came to love TS around "Red" but in 2008 I was hitting my teens and was going to be philosophically opposed to music that girls who didn't like me were listening to), but the new version kind of knocked me on my ass. The production is so much richer and the vocal performance is more nuanced, I love it

Not super educated on the nuances of why she's remaking all her albums outside of "ass hat bought her masters"... but you guys think we'll start to see other artists do this with the same motivation of owning their masters? Sure not everyone has the resources to make the difference literally unrecognizable like Ms. Swift here, or the clout to make people care so much, but with how advanced music technology is I don't see why they couldn't.
