I agree with your assessment, but I liked the two lengthiest songs the most, so I hope they put some on there =)

To be fair I've only listened to Blazing Fires 3 times, so the length of it could grow on me. I kind of get lost in the longer songs, which, I suppose, could be what they were going for

holy fuck YES they are back!
my only complaint is that the spoken-word thing there has been used so widely in post-rock. i liked it a lot more on this album as the beautiful ambient music played in the background and the narrative was really emotional

Haha, I like it a lot when I get lost in songs. I find it fun to explore the structure

Hard to say after two listens but I think this song's lyrical content deals with a) nihilism and the longing to be able to believe in something bigger and b) the aging of the country and hopelessness for the future (of the welfare state Sweden), that's an obvious one. A nice actual theme.
Do share what you guys think =)

nah i get you bakker, i love those songs but they're harder to analyse and determine whether you like them on only a few listens, for me anyway.

I thought it was rather obvious, but after two listens I can't be sure.
edit: well yeah, there's also a hint of euthanasia/ eugenics in the second part. (off the dumb and weak, so the strong can keep the welfare state intact.) Cruel and morbid, but I like how they dare to bring up these subjects.

Does anyone else find it wonderful that after 8 years, they can still convey the same turmoil?
I think that's kind of great, I feel it gets harder and harder the older you get.

Its certainly damn impressive. Im so used to comebacks falling flat on their face, so hopefully the rest of the new record will keep up this standard

I haven't listened to the song but you might have to rethink this if you trying to make this into some right-wing bs.

Judging by this track alone, I think chances are low to be severely disappointed.

Dear, I'm just giving an opinion of what I think it's about. Besides, the lyrics are below the video, so see for yourself lol
You can't expect fluffy lyrics from this band
