I really like this one, but I think Hypnotize is complete shit. Toxicity rules hard, but I haven't heard the S/T (which I have downloaded) or Steal This Album yet.

Don't get me wrong, I love Steal This Album!, I have it at a 4/5, I just think that it

was a pretty standard and safe album for these guys after they evolved their sound

to staggering heights with Toxicity. This and Hypnotize feel much more varried,

adventurous, quirky, and Daron's increased involvement in the tracks gave both

albums a personality that was different from what was found on the other SOAD

albums. I think the overall music on these two are much more urgent than on Steal

This Album!, and that the style is more unique. STA! at times felt like a collection of

outtakes and B-Sides (which I know was kind of the point, but still).

Hypnotize has a great song on it in the form of Holy Mountains. To me that one is an Aerials mk2 of sorts.

At release I thought Hypnotize was somewhat better than this one, but right now it's hard to say. Definitely the latest two albums are the weakest, not much discussion here. Stupid, radio-friendly melodies, Daron singing too much etc take these albums down two notches.
