"maybe but suddenly cutting off songs is one of my biggest pet peeve"

i agree with this 100% if - and only if - the vocalist anticipates it with a "stop/cut/end" lyric a millisecond before the song drops lol. that shit is cringe. on Silence it feels like the band have clocked that their loop could go on forever, so they kill it abruptly as a power move and it works bc who has time for forever

it's such a shame because the album is otherwise so so good, but i know for a fact that the cutoff is going to annoy me each time

Yeah I think Machine Gun is maybe even my fave here. Or Threads. But I won't be ever able to pick just one!

And We Carry On Johnny!

Basically all of it except for Deep Water, which is a perfect interlude but isn't the best one here of course.

Those mega harsh beats in Machine Gun are amazing, but I get it if they're too much. So delicious to me.

should have released a Boards of Canada-style reversion called Pillow Gun

Small>We Carry On as far as the thicc bois go, and Deep Water is v essential and better than a few of the actual not interlude real life tracks

We Carry On is amazing as well... I'm noticing a pattern here guys.

'i don't like how harsh the beats are in machine gun'

Interesting, because that's one of it's major selling points for me.

It is very essential agreed. Which of the 'real tracks' would you say is worse then, Johnny?

Jamming right now, it’s essentially flawless so far. I haven’t even gotten to Machine Gun yet, then there’s Magic Doors... surely another 5/5 song?

Deep Water isn’t amazing, but I’m gonna give it a pass for being an interlude.

Yeah and it does bring this super nice contrast so think it's really instrumental in lifting this to new heights. Plus its placement is perfect too. Agreed about Magic Doors by the way.

This truly is a very very very good record.
