I'm pretty good at very analytical "introduction point 1, quote, explain point 2 etc etc etc." style essays, which is really good for school. But I really lack creative writing skills, thus I have no review on sputnik. I really wish I was better at it though

are you majoring in something that requires writing? because i had to take 2 english classes as a CSE major but they were both pretty much free As as long as you wrote your essay exactly the way you would guess the professor wanted you to.

I'm majoring in philosophy or communications or ...something. I switched out of business at the end of first semester because one night I was lying in bed (listening to F#A# actually) and realized that the program was making me depressed and the idea of working in the Business world for the rest of my life was making me more depressed. So now I guess I'm undeclared, so ya lotsa writin'

I dunno. Philosophy probably, film studies would be my favourite if we watched good movies.
Also why isn't their a "music studies" degree. Like I know they have music programs but a program where you listen to an album every week and write about it the same way you do for a movie.

music is a lot more open ended so the responses wouldnt be as easy to mark as a film study, which has a lot more in common with traditional literary writings.
but do a music course and all of your wildest dreams will come true!

ya good point. Film is essentially the same as an English class. But instead of a short story it's a movie a week. And I couldn't imagine a T.A having to grade papers on Boards of Canada- Music Has the Right to Children.

yeah and people who dont necessarily like a film or book will still write pages and pages on it, whereas with an album if they didnt like it they would just be like 'nah fuck that'
i dont think ive done anything subjective in my course at all, though we dont have too many written assessments

"only thing I haven't heard from them"
what? this is essential, the easiest starting point for the band as well as the genre. I dont know, this was the first post-rock I've heard and I feel like it should be a requirement to listen to this before other post-rock.
