I still don’t understand how this can be better than Effloresce. Bizarrely that one sounds more refined despite being their debut. This is perhaps more daring/experimental and therefore gives off the impression of a talented but inexperienced band, at times.
It’s fantastic, just trying to understand why this is often heralded as their peak. I prefer the more consistent flow and atmosphere of Effloresce, plus this has Only Twin which is a low point.

Unrelated point but there’s a part a couple of mins from the end of Sleeping Dogs that sounds like it was taken straight from Infinity Land era Biffy Clyro and I can’t un-hear it. Admittedly my memory may be off as it’s been a while.

Mike Vennart is (I think still) a permanent member of their touring lineup so yeah. Simon Neil featured on their last album, but it was kinda whatever
