I agree completely with the three of you. I think she's missing the entire point of the lyric. He's obviously speaking out against the rich white kids that rape girls.
I don't understand how she wants date rape to be brought up. Sure, it's casual, but should we pretend it doesn't happen? Of course not. I can't convince her though.

Like, that lyric is absolutely central to the song. I think it's the strongest line in the song. It's talking about where he gets his motivation to keep riding. He doesn't want to be like the heartless assholes that drive SUVs; he's proud of being working class and riding his bike and respecting women.

the songs here just don't really feel finished. There are a lot of great ideas presented and some good stand-alone tracks, but Jeff said himself that since this was the first BtMI! album where they were writing as a full band, he didn't flesh out the ideas as much as he'd like to. Still a good album and I enjoy it, I just enjoy it as a pretty fun alt-punk album, not as a BtMI! album.
