yeah I'll admit a lot of the bands I like try to copy this but they also try to copy a shit ton of other bands. everything is inspired by another thing
this may or may not have been "of its time" although I highly doubt something like Poledo was considered a normal, standard song in 1987 hahaha. my point is basically everyone points to the classics as influences for most emo/indie punk/pop punk/shoegaze/whatever, but this is rarely mentioned even though it's just as much as an influence, if not more
