Last show was June 2012. Getting back together after 3 years wouldn't be unheard of. I'd certainly appreciate it, although hopefully they come to Sacramento this time.

One of my favorite bands ever, and I love their whole discography, but
1) Illusion is their 2nd worse record after Identity Crisis
2) thrice should just call it quits. It doesn't seem like the other members of Thrice want to deal with Dustin and his church bullshit. When has a band ever come back from hiatus or a break up and actually been good? (seriously curious, I can't think of any)

2nd worst after Identity Crisis?
wat

Yea. I mean I like it a lot, I just think their latter albums are better. It's mostly because Dustin's voice sounds somewhat immature pre-Vheissu. Some of those House of Blues recordings of their early albums are amazing, like Trust.

CoolCalmJoe, do you really think Thrice should call it quits just because Dustin has involved himself more with religion over the past few years? How do you know that the other members don't want to be around him because of his faith? If there is an interview with the other members who say this then link it. Otherwise it's pure conjecture.

yea, i meant to edit my comment to say I doubt they'd want to hang around him. It was pure conjecture.
My feelings on them quitting doesn't really have to do with the religion though, more because of the fact that I can't think of a single band that comes back and is as good or better than they were. I don't think Thrice would be the type of band to make a cash grab album, but I don't see how they could come back to it with the same passion they held before the break.
There are plenty of good bands out there, I don't see why fans can't just appreciate an artist's body of work and just let them go.

I don't know how reforming the band is going to work out because not only is Dustin more involved in his solo project, but Eddie also just got hired by Angels and Airwaves.

Also, the absolutepunk podcast with Riley does bring up some ill feelings about the hiatus.

like what kind of ill feelings dont leave us hanging

The fuck did I just read?
1) Illusion is either their best or second best album (it's pretty much equally as good as Vheissu). Identity Crisis is better than either Beggars or Major/Minor, unless you only care about the vocals, in which case, that's Dustin and not Thrice, the band.
2) Glassjaw comes to mind. If Finch's recent single is any indication, they're as good as they ever were.

I'm pretty sure the only bitter feelings from the members about the hiatus are because not all of the members actually wanted to stop making music together but it was just forced on them.
Thrice is my favorite band but I don't need them to release another album. I'd be happy if they did another tour or so and just never released any new music

Glassjaw made like their best EP after they came back from hiatus and yeah Finch is sounding pretty sweet though not as good as SHTS
If anyone could pull it off it'd be Thrice (they've only been gone a short time anyway not like 5 years)

Yo suga.
I'm also pretty sad to learn Eddie joined Angels and Airwaves. Not only is he a killer bassist, but he has written loads of Thrice riffs and him joining A&A is just... barf

Didn't know about that haha
Angels and Airwaves aren't THAT bad though they have some tunes
maybe Eddie can add some sweet screams into their music (lol)

maybe (if delonge isn't a control freak (doubtful)) eddie will improve the band's musicianship and credibility.

DeLonge is a bit of a twat but he does, contrary to the popular opinion, have talent and now how to use it
He let Willard rip it up on the drums when he was in the band so he's not a complete Rodriguez-Lopez

If Eddie performs on one of their albums, it means I'll have to listen to it. Hopefully they would let him write because he has made some killer riffs
