^ yep @ Doof haha
On that subject I'm coming around to the idea that thrash is mostly bobbins, unless it has heavy death/black influence.

"Current health: CoL > Tool > Opeth"
I would have agreed with you 6 months ago.

You have to go into the forums and contact them there, I can't remember the exact process, but think I just requested it in a big thread of some sort and eventually it happened.

Thrash is either excellent, close to excellent or boring.
There's a lot of boring thrash.
I thought this year's Critical Defiance debut is one of the best metal album's I've tried in 2019...so I guess I'm still stuck on 'late 80s sounding' thrash at least a bit

all this metal talk and no one bringing up Mgla's latest, which is better than Tool, Opeth, *and* CoL. (though the CoL is still very, *very* good.)

New Mgla is nice but feels recycled. Have you heard their previous albums, tectac?

I can't remember why CoL was brought up, but Mgla probably aren't relevant here either, but thanks I haven't actually heard that. Plenty of stuff I could mention though.

Only the previous one (Exercises in Futility), which I also really enjoyed. And I agree, they do sound similar, but my specific tastes for black metal are so niche and indiscernible (even to myself) that when I find something I actually like, I don't mind the similitude as much as more adept metal-heads might.

I just brought CoL up because this and that one are my faves from 2019...I have some followers but def not Mgla, which I'm yet to listen, and Opeth just blew a bit off my style...though I enjoy it...and acknowledge its quality! (which is part of my rating system).

okay stuff regarding music from this album: Why aren't Tool fans enjoying CCT? For me it was one of the creative highlights of the album - and in general I kinda noticed that Tool are pretty impressive when it comes to interludes. Yet, all the Tool fans don't seem to appreciate that.

It is THE highlight, definitely. I'm a little shook that you just came swanning in here and started talking about the album though, what a maverick.

Nice dig btw, reminded me that it could do with a revisit.

Not a fan of CCT. It has grating synths, it's pretty disappointing for a Danny Carey solo, and it ruins the atmosphere of the album.

Wat? Spare us the paragraph friend...we get your POV gag on your rev. That was not on table here...and certainly not on 5ers for this...drink less than me pal

CCT is the confirmation I needed, Tool should do away with all the boring riffs and make a drum n bass album.

I would actually be pretty interested in hearing that, CCT aside.

'Chocolate Chip Trip' is literally the best song on this album. No bamboozle.
