fantano has built a community that'll listen to stuff based on his word, and if something like the alexis marshall fiasco comes up he'll have fans messaging him about it because he's put them on his platform. he responded by putting lingua on his platform, didn't feel like it was to maintain his image moreso than just addressing/talking about what his audience was spamming him at that time. if he's got a buncha people going after him over some shit he'd said or didn't say, i don't see why he shouldn't respond

Why does fantano always have to be brought up around here and when he does it ALWAYS some constant argument on both sides of hating his work or loving it. I'm so tired of seeing his name anymore and when people hold his opinions to such a high-degree like it matters at all. I enjoy his content but he's just another person like us giving his thoughts on music. Nothing more, nothing less. We don't need to over-analyze every rating and thought the guy has. Yeah, i should clarify my point was basically meant to point out the 2nd part of your post here. Fine talking about him and his opinions but it always tends to go way beyond that.

Yeah, he ripped that one Meshuggah album I loved and my response was mainly "eh, that's a pretty bad take but whatever" and moved on lol. I don't understand how it's that hard for people. Granted, it's not just with Fantano. It goes with everything be it movies, games, etc. Just for music he's the biggest name in reviews at least for youtube goes for music.

I too feel that he's way too polarizing. Like people either let him define their musical journey or spite him at every turn and I just don't think it's that serious either way. I think he seems like a swell guy who loves music and his opinions are much more often informed than not. Probably agree with 60 to 70% of his takes. Used to follow him more closely in college, but I just vibe with his content when I remember to in recent years.
