Definitely a pop album. Love SUCKS. The opening combo of DNA, YAH, and ELEMENT is crazy though, I love all of those songs a lot. Loyalty seems like one of those songs that was made just to have Ri and Kenny on the same track vs actually having a statement to make. Pretty mid, that song.

It just blows my mind that DAMN was the album that got Kendrick a Pulitzer Prize, when GKMC and TPAB were RIGHT FUCKING THERE. lol

TPAB deserves the Pulitzer more, but I can't really listen to TPAB all the way through without actively forcing myself with all of my energy lol

It is still crazy to me how his worst album was the one that got a Pullitzer when it should have been TPAB (that what was I would say before GNX). GNX is still not as bad as people make it to be though

Damn wins the Pullitzer over TPAB because as incredible as TPAB is it's re-treading old territory when it comes to the issues he was talking about. Topical examples, but still the same sad message. Damn on the other hand is something no one has written bout in rap before. Just puuuuure nihilism and despair for humanity lol.

Yeah I do think it’s because DAMN is a little more modern and cutting edge, both musically and topically I suppose, with the artsy conceptual stuff to boot (even though I find TPAB superior in all of these categories but hey)

GNX suffers a lot during its non-SZA features, but the songs and sections that are exclusively Kendrick are exhilarating
